Oklahoma State earlier labored in Maui, losing to Marquette and Illinois. That forced coach Sean Sutton to script a more decisive game plan to help out his new point guards Bryon Eaton and Nick Sidorakis. The Cowboys have lassoed three opponents in a row, albeit the last two were Texas A&M CC and East Tennessee State. On Saturday, they’ll face perhaps their toughest opponent yet, Pittsburgh, in a noon broadcast on ESPN.

The typical Oklahoma State defense has not on display thus after eight contests with opponents making 46.6 percent of shot attempts. The Cowboys are just 1-10 ATS off a home win over the last two seasons.

Pittsburgh is still perfect 9-0 (3-2 ATS) thanks to hanging on to win at Washington 75-74 last week. The Panthers are receiving strong play F Sam Young and G Levance Young and C DeJuan Blair has fit in comfortably for departed Aaron Gray in the middle. Junior Tyrell Biggs, a forgotten man a year ago in making outstanding contributions off the bench for a team hitting 48.7 percent of its shots. Even before Jamie Dixon became the head coach, he knew Pitt basketball was about the little things. Opponents are making only 37.4 percent of shot attempts and the Panthers are tenacious on the boards out-rebounding foe by 14 a game.

Pittsburgh is the better team and is 28-7 ATS when they score 75 to 80 points in a game. Oklahoma State is capable of slipping under the number, since Pitt is 4-10 ATS off straight up win.
